PrideAI ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

Account information: Name, email address, username, and password when you create an account.
Profile information: Profile photo, bio, home gym, gender (used for leaderboard divisions), fitness goals, and body measurements you choose to add.
Fitness and health-related data: Workout logs, exercise sets, reps, weights, personal records, body measurements, calorie targets, and meal macros. This data is health/fitness-related and is processed solely to provide and personalize the Service.
Meal data: Foods logged, meal photos and physique photos uploaded for AI-powered analysis, calorie and macro targets, and barcode scans.
Social content: Posts, comments, photos, and videos you share on the social feed.
Waitlist information: Name and email address submitted via our website waitlist form.
Communications: Messages you send to our support team.

Information Collected Automatically

Precise location: With your permission, we may collect your device's precise location to verify gym check-ins and discover nearby gyms and gym communities. You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → PrideAI → Location. Revoking location will disable gym check-in and nearby gym discovery features.
Push notification tokens: If you allow notifications, we collect your device push token to send workout reminders, social activity alerts, and other in-app notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → PrideAI.
Device information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
Usage data: Features used, screens viewed, session duration, and interaction patterns.
Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps when you use our website.

Information from Third Parties

Google Sign-In: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
Apple Sign-In: If you sign in with Apple, we receive the information Apple shares per your settings (name and email, which Apple may relay or anonymize).
Open Food Facts: When you scan a food barcode, we query the Open Food Facts API to retrieve product nutrition data. The barcode value may be sent to their servers. See Open Food Facts Terms.

2. AI Processing and Photo / Video Uploads

How AI features process your data

Meal photo scanning and physique analysis: When you use AI-powered meal scanning or physique photo features, your photos are transmitted from our servers (Firebase Cloud Functions) to Google Gemini for analysis. Google Gemini generates nutrition estimates or image edits and returns the results to us to display in your app.
AI Coach: Text messages you send to the AI Coach are processed by our backend (Firebase Cloud Functions) and then by Google Gemini to generate personalized coaching responses.
Processing location: AI requests are processed server-side — not on-device — via Google Firebase Cloud Functions and Google's Gemini API.
We do not use your content to train PrideAI models. Meal photos, physique images, and AI Coach conversations are used only to fulfill your in-app request. Google's handling of data sent to Gemini is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Gemini API terms.
Retention: Meal scan results and AI-generated estimates may be stored in your account until you delete them or your account is deleted. Uploaded photos are not retained longer than necessary for the feature, abuse prevention, or applicable legal requirements.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account and provide the Service
Power AI coaching responses and personalized workout and meal plan generation
Analyze meal photos and physique images to estimate nutritional content or generate visual edits
Look up food product nutrition data via barcode scanning (Open Food Facts)
Display your activity on leaderboards and community feeds (based on your privacy settings)
Verify gym check-ins and suggest nearby gyms using your precise location
Process subscription payments and manage billing through Apple In-App Purchase
Send push notifications for workout reminders, social activity, and product updates (if permitted)
Send you service updates, product announcements, and marketing communications (you may opt out at any time)
Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
Improve, personalize, and develop new features of the Service
Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With Other Users

Information you post publicly (profile, posts, PRs, leaderboard entries, photos, and videos) is visible to other users according to your privacy settings. You control what you share.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service:

Firebase (Google): Database (Firestore), authentication, analytics, cloud storage, and Cloud Functions backend
Google Gemini AI: Powers AI coaching, meal photo nutrition analysis, and physique image processing
Google Places API: Gym discovery and location-based services
Open Food Facts: Food product nutrition data retrieved during barcode scans
Apple: Sign in with Apple authentication, In-App Purchase payment processing, App Store subscription and receipt validation

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Business Transfers

If PrideAI is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.

6. Your Privacy Choices

Profile visibility: Control whether your profile, posts, and PRs are public or private in app settings.
Precise location: Revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → PrideAI → Location. Revoking disables gym check-in and nearby gym discovery.
Push notifications: Disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → PrideAI.
Marketing emails: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the link in any email we send.
Account deletion: Delete your account directly in the app via Settings → Delete Account. You may also request deletion by emailing support@prideaiapp.com. All associated personal data will be removed within 30 days.
Data access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting support.

7. Cross-App Tracking

PrideAI does not use your data for cross-app tracking or share your data with third-party advertising networks for the purpose of tracking you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

8. Children's Privacy

PrideAI is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, please contact us at support@prideaiapp.com.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information). 10. International Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. 11. Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
